Care & medical approach

Integrative medicine combines conventional medical treatments with evidence-based complementary approaches such as nutrition, lifestyle guidance, stress management, and mind-body practices. It focuses on treating the whole person and supporting the body’s innate ability to heal, rather than addressing symptoms alone.

At Betten Integrative Medicine, we look beyond hormones alone and take time to understand the full picture of what may be affecting your health during perimenopause and menopause. For routine primary care needs such as infections, screenings, or acute illnesses, you will continue to work with your primary care provider.

Yes. Dr. Betten has extensive experience treating thyroid conditions, including Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. When appropriate, treatment options may include glandular thyroid medications such as Armour or NP Thyroid, as well as low-dose naltrexone (LDN).
You and Dr. Betten work together as a team when it comes to medications. When medications are indicated, we help you obtain the best option for your unique situation as thoughtfully and affordably as possible.

Visits, labs & telehealth

Your initial visit is scheduled for at least 90 minutes. This time allows for a thorough review of your health history, discussion of your concerns, and development of an individualized plan. Blood work is often ordered, with a follow-up visit scheduled to review results.

Follow-up visits are scheduled as needed and may be in person or via telehealth once you are established as a patient. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the office or through the online scheduler.

Yes. Telehealth visits are available through our electronic medical record system once you have completed an initial in-person visit. Patients must be seen in the office at least once per year.

Lab orders can be taken to any lab you and your insurance prefer. We also offer access to discounted laboratory testing through Quest Diagnostics, which has locations nationwide.

Some women notice improvements within days to weeks, while others may need more time to find the right balance or dosage. With direct access to Dr. Betten through the membership, adjustments can be made without waiting for your next scheduled appointment.

Insurance, referrals & logistics

Betten Integrative Medicine does not participate in insurance billing, including Medicare and Medicaid. Your insurance may still be used for outside lab testing, referrals to specialists, and hospital services when needed.
